Would you like to help your Year 1 or 2 child read some harder words? These are called ‘polysyllabic’ words, meaning they have more than one syllable – children like to read longer, more challenging words!
You can download some examples of polysyllabic words at the bottom of this page.
You can read them on the computer, or print them off, cut them out and make some flashcards. Have some fun with them – come in to school and tell us what you have been doing; there may even be a Head Teacher’s sticker in it for you!
