Bhangra
Cultural dance plays a vital role in enriching pupils’ creativity, identity, and understanding of diverse communities. Bhangra, a vibrant and energetic dance form originating from the Punjab region of India and Pakistan, began as a celebratory folk dance performed during harvest festivals and community gatherings. Over time it evolved, blending traditional steps with contemporary music and global influences, making it both a living tradition and a modern cultural expression. Under the guidance of Mrs Kaur, pupils explore Bhangra as a way to celebrate cultural heritage, promote inclusion, and deepen their appreciation of how cultural traditions shape today’s artistic practices.
