Stubbers Adventure Centre Residential Trip
Tue 10 Oct 2023On Wednesday 20th September, an intrepid group of children from Year 5 and Year 6 set off on an exciting and invigorating residential trip to Stubbers Adventure Centre in Upminster, thrilled about the adventures that lay ahead.
Throughout the trip, accompanied by Mr Fitzpatrick, Miss Lydon and Miss Lynch, the children demonstrated their true colours; adopting leadership roles, listening carefully to each other’s instructions and working effectively in teams to meet the challenges of the different activities.
Through rain and shine, the children showed initiative and strategic thinking in solving physical conundrums to get their team from one place to another, developed a range of diverse skills, such as archery combat and paddle-boarding, and demonstrated great courage and determination to meet the high climbing challenges of the vertical obstacle course and Leap of Faith! All of the children had great fun in glorious surroundings. Their instructors and the teachers who accompanied them were genuinely impressed with their lively enthusiasm, impeccable behaviour and support of each other, as they were pushed beyond their comfort zone.
Above all else, throughout their time at Stubbers, the children exemplified our school’s values of aspiration, care, creativity, engagement, pride, reflection and resilience.

NEW TIMES OF THE SCHOOL DAY
Fri 02 Sep 2022You will be aware that the government has published new aspirational guidance for schools. The White Paper sets out proposed reforms to the education system focused on providing excellent teaching for every child and delivering high standards of curriculum, behaviour and attendance.
One of the ways in which this can be achieved, is by ensuring that every child is in school for 32.5 hours per week. All schools are expected to have this place by the end of 2022.
Therefore, from Monday 5th September 2022, we will be changing the times of the school day to provide the extended hours.
