Maths
Throughout the year in Year 6, we explore many different areas of maths — from place value, negative numbers and fractions, to decimals, percentages, geometry and more. The links below will help you practise and reinforce what we learn in class. They are a great way to revisit topics, build confidence, and strengthen your understanding at home. Spending a little time each week on these activities will make a big difference to how secure you feel with your maths learning.
✖️ Times Tables – The Key to Success
Knowing your times tables confidently is one of the most important building blocks in maths. They help you with almost every area we cover, from fractions and division to algebra and problem-solving. You all have access to Times Table Rock Stars, which you should aim to use for at least 10 minutes every day. You can also try fun games like Hit the Button, practise through songs, or make your own flashcards and charts at home. However you choose to learn them, make sure you know them inside out — it will make everything in maths much easier and help you succeed as confident, capable mathematicians.
