Taking part in cooking activities is important. By measuring ingredients and counting out items the children are developing their mathematical skills. By cutting and chopping vegetables and fruit they're learning how to be safe with equipment and how to use it accurately. We use different equipment such as the oven, microwave and blender to introduce children to them and discuss how to be safe in the kitchen.
