This term, our topic focus is Volcanoes! We will learn: the layers of Earth, how volcanoes are formed, the parts of a volcano, where they are, their impact on the environment and people both in the past and the present. Autumn Term 2021
Ancient Kingdom of Benin
This term our focus takes us to the Ancient Kingdom of Benin. We have travelled back to 900 AD to learn about this ancient civilisation. We have used our map reading and Atlas skills to ensure we know where the kingdom was and reminded ourselves of key geographic knowledge by identifying the continents and the Equator. We will be finding out about: the way of life, their art, how they communicated, the impact of trade and why the kingdom ended. We will look at modern African artists and make a traditional African dish!
