Learning Challenge
Mayan Frescoes 5AC
We have been learning about Mayan art and we used an Atlas to help locate the Mayan Civilisation on a map. We took inspiration from paintings in caves to create our own Frescoes (quick paintings).
Mayan Masks 5AC
We have been learning how and why the Maya civilisation created bright and colourful masks in their culture. They made masks to depict animals and even made them out of jade to protect them on their journey to the afterlife!
The tomb of Fu Hao 5AC
We explored the internet to find out information on Fu Hao, a military general from the Shang Dynasty, who’s tomb was discovered in 1976.
Writing as people did in the Shang Dynasty!
Year 5 children have been recreating dragon bones from clay. The children used ancient symbols to ask questions about the future!
Our exciting Autumn topic is world WWII.
We talked about the awful bombing which happened across Britain and the reasons behind it. We also discussed the colours which might have filled the sky and we represented this by using oil pastels to create our art work.
