LI - To round numbers to the nearest 10, 100, 1000, 10,000 or 100,000
If rounding to the nearest 10, look at the units column.
If rounding to the nearest 100,look at the 10s column.
if rounding to the nearest 1000, look at the 100s column.
If rounding to the nearest 10000, look at the nearest 1000 column.
Can you spot a pattern?
If the digit is 5 or more, round up
If the digit is less than 5, round down.
Example
Round 358472 :
to the nearest 10 = 358470
to the nearest 100 = 358500
to the nearest 1000 = 358000
to the nearest 10000 = 360000
to the nearest 100000 = 400000
