Science at Marsh Green
We encourage children to explore their curiosities and theories relating to Science. We strive to incorporate Science across the curriculum, linking themes from other topics, events and trips! - Mrs Johnson (Science Lead)
British Science Week 2024 - Time
Time is an important concept across all STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths). Here are some examples of how it is used:
British Science Week Assembly 2024
British Science Week 2024 Class Activities
Science Focus Week, Summer 2023
This academic year our focus week was science themed.
We explored how science is all around us.
Over the course of the week, each class became immersed in different activities that sought to answer the following questions;
Monday - How is science in me?
Tuesday - Which scientific forces are around us?
Wednesday - How can science be weird and wacky?
Thursday - How is science in the things we use, wear and eat?
Friday – How am I a scientist? (Science exhibition and presentation to parents)
Impact of Science Week
Alessia – 2OG
I loved looking at the kettle at home and seeing what happens before and after it boils.

My favourite thing I did in focus week is when we had chocolate and we had to find out why it melted. Then we learnt that our body heat is 36 degrees. After the chocolate melted we got to eat it.
Lewis – 6SC
I enjoyed learning about STEM and the periodic table because I have never heard about this before also, I learnt about how fire works and what it needs to keep burning.

British Science Week 2023
British Science Week is a ten-day celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths.
This Year’s theme was Connections.
British Science Week Assembly - March 2023
We began the celebrations by holding a whole school assembly on the importance of learning science and we discovered that we are all scientists! Since the day we were born, we have been exploring the world with our senses and building our own ideas about how it works. What do you see and notice about the world around us?
