Marsh Green Choir Perform at Wembley Arena!

On Wednesday 15th March 2023, the Choir performed at Voice in a Million, and it was amazing! The Choir were chosen from over 150 schools to sing ‘Memories’ as part of the event attended by over 6,000 children! 
We were so proud of everyone, for their performance, attitudes, behaviour, commitment and enthusiasm.

Marsh Green are the best!

Marsh Green's 'Reading Together Mornings' will occur once every half term. Our first 'Reading Together Morning' was on Monday 13th March (8:50am - 9:20am).

100th Day!

Groovy T- Shirts!

The children have taken part in many fantastic activities including the 100th Day T-Shirt competition. Below are some fantastic photos and videos of the day.

100th Day Assemblies!

Nursery and Reception 

Nursery were so very excited today when they came in and dressed all in their fantastic t-shirts that they had made! We started the day off by completing different challenges. We worked together to see whether we could built a tower using 100 blocks!! We looked at photographs from the last 100 days, talking about our favourite memories. Lots of children remembered that they went on a bear hunt and made pancakes. We spoke about how we have grown up in 100 days and have got taller. It was really difficult to choose the winners as all children had tried so hard. Well done to Emma, Dima, Inayah and Stefania who won some playdough. Take a look at all our fantastic t-shirts. Every child received a special certificate to celebrate 100 days of starting school. 

Year 1

Year 1 started the day reading 100 tricky words. Then we looked at 100 different types of books and then read over 100 words in each book. We enjoyed singing and dancing to 100. We wrote our 100 squares. We wrote about what we had learned in 100 days. We later enjoyed some 100 day arts and craft activities. 

Year 2

Year 2 had an amazing 100th day! We started our day by sharing and celebrating our 100th Day T-shirts with all of our friends. Then we sang and danced to a variety of Jack Hartman songs e.g. counting to 100, counting to 100 in multiples of 2, 5 and 10 to 100 and counting backwards from 100-0! We also completed a variety of fun 100th Day activities for example: Writing 100 words, creating 100th day posters, solving 100th day word searches  and explained why we are 100 days smarter. What a spectacular way to celebrate 100th Day! 

Year 3

Year 3 had a super day celebrating 100 days of school!

We celebrated each other's 100 Day t-shirt designs with an in-class catwalk and we enjoyed seeing how each homemade shirt was so different and vibrant, just like us!

We then recalled our learning so far this year and discussed how being in school for 100 days has made us 100 days brighter.  We completed a thought track of all the things we've learned from our amazing topics so far this year.  We created our own 100 day word competition, trying to write 100 words in 100 seconds (which is extremely hard) and thought about what life will be like in 100 years time.

Year 4

Year 4 had an amazing 100 days of school celebration!

We watched video clips and listened to the wise words of centenarians who had managed to live to 100 years and longer. They spoke of healthy eating, hard work for the mind and the body, no worries and some believed that it was God’s will.

We then recalled our New Year’s resolutions and our aspirations for the future from previous learning and linked this to what we felt that we would have done over the years if we lived to be 100 years old.

Year 4 also participated in some practical maths tasks which were part of our 100 Second Challenges.

Year 5

100 Day (5EL) 

Today the children participated in a carousel of activities. They had to find 100 ways of making 100, find 100 words through the game Boggle, stacking 100 cups, 100 things they loved about Marsh Green and what they would spend if they had £100 pounds. The children thoroughly enjoyed the activities and loved to compete against their friends.

Year 6

Today, Year 6 did many activities around the number 100. They designed a theme park with 100 rides. They took part in many challenges, including as many blinks, words they could write and numbers they could say in 100 seconds! They imagined life in 100 years and what they might have achieved in this time.

Inspiring Futures’ session for teachers and pupils where we creatively explored young people’s sense of identity and its relationship with mental health and wellbeing. We worked with cultural organisation Iniva, therapeutic support service A Space and artist Holly Graham to artistically respond to the provocation of identity and wellbeing. The final piece of work we created will be shared at the professionals conference and contribute to empowering and amplifying youth voice within LBBD’s Race and Social Justice programme.
