30 Day Yoga Challenge - Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of the 30 Day Yoga Challenge!

Don't worry - no falling over for this pose! Today we will be learning Boat Pose or Navasana in Sanskrit.

Savasana is a great core/abdominal muscle work out! You'll be getting rock hard abs with this one! It's also a great pose for lengthening the spine and stretching the lower back when done correctly.

30 Day Yoga Challenge - Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of the 30 Day Yoga Challenge! It's another tricky (fun) one! Today we will be learning Half-Moon Pose.

We will be using the poses we learnt yesterday, Warrior II and Extended-Side Angle Pose, to transition into Half-Moon.

Half-Moon has many physical benefits, such as improving your balance and core strength (those lovely tummy muscles!) but also has some mental/internal benefits too. This pose is a 'cooling pose', which means you draw in calm, cool energy - making it perfect for reducing stress and worry!

The Sanskrit name for Half-Moon is Ardha Chandrasana... another tongue twister!

Please note: no blocks are needed for this pose! You can use anything you have lying around the house to support you, such as tins of food, boxes or books.

30 Day Yoga Challenge - Day 2


Welcome to Day 2 of the 30 Day Yoga Challenge!

Today I have Miss Hill joining me to learn the Warrior II and Extended Side-Angle poses... so today is actually a double challenge! Warrior II is a very common yoga pose and works all of the muscles in the body - it's a very strong pose.. hence the name! We will then transition into Side-Angle pose which is a great pose for strengthening the legs, knees, and ankles, while also stretching and toning the abdominal muscles. The proper name for Extended Side-Angle pose is Utthita Parsvakonasana... have a go at saying that! It's a tongue twister that's for sure...

These poses will prepare us for our Day 3 pose, coming tomorrow!

30 Day Yoga Challenge - Day 1


Welcome to Day 1 of the 30 Day Yoga Challenge!

Today you will learn one of my favourite yoga poses of all time... King Dancer Pose! This pose is great for increasing your flexibility, improving your balance and maintaining focus.
