A World Book Day Debate
We debated the question… Is reading a hobby?
After discussing what makes something a hobby (choice, engagement), we split into two groups. Group A argued that reading is a hobby whilst group B argued that it was not.
Group A won having disagreed with many of the reasons that Group B gave for not seeing reading as a hobby.
We enjoyed the debate especially as we have begun to challenge with opposing arguments.

We worked in two groups to prepare statements that made London as a big city, sound good or bad and then presented this in pairs.

STRANDED ON A DESERT ISLAND
We played a ‘ Stranded on a Desert Island’ game. It helped us to work with a partner and use persuasive language to convince them to choose our item to take onto the island.
