    Learning intention: We are learning to recognise, name and begin to know properties of 3D shapes.

    Today we are learning how to describe 3D shapes. We describe shapes using properties (this means what qualities they have).

    3D shapes have vertices, edges and surfaces. Look at the teacher example below to see which part of the shape matches each property. 

    3D Shapes I Know - including sphere, cylinder, cube, cone, and pyramid.

    Watch the video of the 3D shapes then we will play guess the shape by describing the properties of the shapes.

    Task- 

    Guess the shapes that the girls are describing. Draw a picture and write the name of each shape.

    Challenge- 

    Make a list of each 3D shape and objects around your home. 

    Eg. sphere

    football

    orange

    globe

    lettuce

    Can you make your own list for cube, cuboid and cylinder?
