Welcome to Year 2!

A very warm welcome to our Year 2 class page!

We are looking forward to a busy, exciting and rewarding year filled with learning, new experiences and lots of achievements. 

Year 2 Expectations

To help your child have a successful year, please remember the following:

• School uniform: Children should wear the correct school uniform and school shoes. Trainers are only permitted on P.E. days.

• Water bottles: Please send your child to school with a named water bottle. Bottles should be taken home daily for cleaning and refilling.

• Labelling belongings: Please label all uniform and belongings with your child’s name and class.

• Daily reading: Children should read at least three times a week. Please ensure each parent comment in the reading diary is signed.

• Reading books and diaries: These must be brought to school every day.

• Guided reading books: These will be sent home every Wednesday in your child’s green Zippy wallet and must be returned to their reading teacher on Monday.

• Spellings: Spelling lists will be sent home every Monday, with tests taking place on Friday.

• Times tables: Regular practice of multiplication facts and times tables at home will help build your child’s confidence and recall.

We believe that a strong partnership between home and school makes a real difference to children’s learning and success.
