Welcome to Year 4!

 

A very warm welcome to all our wonderful Year 4 pupils!

We are so excited to begin a fantastic new school year with you at Marsh Green Primary School. In our classroom, learning, kindness and teamwork are at the heart of everything we do.

Year 4 is your chance to become more independent, take on exciting new responsibilities and discover creative ways to learn. We will explore interesting topics, strengthen our English and maths skills, and encourage you to be curious, confident and ready to have a go!

Your weekly learning missions

• Monday: You will receive new spellings. Practise them every day to prepare for Friday’s spelling test.

• Friday: You will receive an English writing task and a maths task. Complete both by the following Wednesday.

• Three times each week: Read at home with an adult and ask them to write a short comment in your reading diary.

• Every day: Practise your times tables for five minutes. You can use Times Tables Rock Stars to make your practice fun!

Your times tables practice is especially important because all Year 4 pupils will complete the official Multiplication Tables Check in June. A little practice every day will help you feel confident and ready.
