Phonic games to try at home
In Early Years, we love learning phonics everyday! We have all become FANTASTIC at recognising our phonic sounds - please make sure whilst we are not in school, you still continue to practice your phonic sounds and read daily.
Most children are currently learning either Phase 2 or Phase 3 sounds which can be practiced through a variety of fun games. It is also useful for the children to say the sound aloud then practice writing it, to continue progression with letter formation.
For more information on what phonics is all about, please take a look at this page on our school website to help you!

Twinkl has a variety of phonics resources including sound mats, games such as tic-tac-toe and bingo, sentence cards etc. all for free! These are a fantastic resource to use at home.
Phonics Play has lots of fun games for the children to use at home on computers/tablets/iPads. We love Buried Treasure and Obb and Bobb... I'm sure the children would love to show you how to play!
