Wednesday 15th July - English - To commit a story to memory using a map

In this lesson, we will commit the story of Supertato, by Sue Hendar and Paul Linnet, to memory by drawing a story map to represent each part. We will then talk through the story using the map. You can extend this lesson by thinking of an action to represent each part.

 

Wednesday 15th July - Maths - Addition and subtraction within 20

In this lesson we will continue to use our knowledge of numbers to 10 and 20 to play games.

Wednesday 15th July - Foundation - Seasons collage

In today's lesson, we learn about the four different seasons. We think about how we can recognise different seasons and represent them by creating a collage of changing leaves on trees. The lesson links to understanding the world, communication and language and expressive arts and design.

Wednesday 8th July 2020 - Lesson 3 - English - To commit a story to memory using a story map

In this lesson, we will recall the story Beegu, by Alexis Deacon, and draw a story map to help us remember the plot. We will consider the different ways Beegu felt throughout the story and what caused these feelings. You can extend this lesson by thinking of an action step for each part of the story, focusing on using facial expressions.

In this lesson you will measure using non-standard units. Did you know you can measure the length of something using your hands or feet or even toy cars?

Wednesday 8th July 2020 - Lesson 3 - Creative Curriculum - Float / Sink Experiment

In today's lesson, we will be scientists and explore whether items we find around our house float or sink and sort them into two piles, depending on whether they float or sink. The three key areas that this lesson links to are understanding the world, communication and language and maths.

Wednesday 24th June Lesson 3 - English - Drawing a Story Map

In this lesson, we will recall the key parts of The Three Little Pigs and draw a story to help us remember it.  Please draw the story in a simple way. The focus here is for children to learn the order in which the story takes place and drawing pictures of the story helps children talk about what is happening in the story, in the correct order.

Wednesday 24th June Lesson 3 - Maths - Finding One More

In today’s lesson we will practise counting objects in arrays on the 10 frame. We will add one more object and find out how many we have once one more is added. We will notice what happens and talk about it on the 10 frame and using a number track made of number cards.
