Here is Blessing reminding you of the 3D shape names.

Today we are learning how to describe 3D shapes. We describe shapes using properties (this means what qualities they have).

3D shapes have vertices, edges and surfaces. Look at the teacher example below to see which part of the shape matches each property.

Teacher example of a cube's properties (vertices, edges and surfaces).

3D Shapes I Know - including sphere, cylinder, cube, cone, and pyramid.

Watch the video of the 3D shapes then we will play guess the shape by describing the properties of the shapes.

Task-

Guess the shapes that the girls are describing. Draw a picture and write the name of each shape.

Remember to send them to parentenquiry@marshgreen.bardaglea.org.uk

Guess Liepa's Shape......

Guess Jeylin's shape....

Guess Blessing's shape...

Challenge-

Make a list of each 3D shape and objects around your home.

Eg. sphere

globe

lettuce

Can you make your own list for cube, cuboid and cylinder?
