Hello Y3TW and Y3MJ

Below you will find a satchel for your class which will include activities for you to complete every day (beginning on Monday 22nd June 2020). We know that you are working really hard at home, but we want to ensure that you complete some reading, writing and maths tasks on a daily basis.

 

There will also be a choice of Learning Challenge tasks for you to complete. Do not forget to continue to look at our Summer topic work (on the Egyptians) and links to any other current events as usual.

National School Sports Week at Home

 

This Friday ... 26th June Join in with a virtual Sports Day
The summer term is usually one of celebrations and Sports Days but unfortunately because of COVID-19 these on the most part have been postponed. However do not fear West Ham United Foundation have teamed up as part of National School Sport Week.
West Ham United are running a Claret and Blue Virtual Sports Day this Friday. Children can participate from school or home.
There will be 20 pre-recorded activities that will be hosted via their YouTube Channel, all of which will comply with current government guidelines utilising basic household equipment to get children active making the day as accessible for all as possible. They will also be releasing a wide range of cross curricular activities covering numeracy, literacy, PE and PSHE to get children ready for the big day on the 26th June.

The event will focus on self-assessment with children marking their own performance out of five, participants are able to get a bonus point for each activity if they are able to beat the coach's scores adding that element of competition that children enjoy.

All participants will also receive a digital certificate of participation.

Welcome to Year 3. 

 

We would like to take this opportunity to reflect on our Autumn term's learning so please enjoy our Autumn Reflection videos. 

The new term is already well under way and we have already enjoyed an amazing trip to the Tower of London (thank you all parents that supported us). 

We have welcomed our newest teacher to Year 3 (Mrs Johnson), and both she and the class are getting to know each other and settling down to our new Spring term topic - Dragon Slayer.

We have created this short video so you can see what we have been learning about during the autumn term and what we liked most about the creative curriculum...enjoy!

We learned about keeping safe on the road With the help of a visiting 'Road Safety Magic Show.'

We created our own 'Storm' paintings based on our work on Henri Rousseau's famous painting 'Tiger in a Tropical Storm'.

Themed days in school are fun. Look at our odd socks for 'Anti-Bullying Week' and our spots to celebrate 'Children in Need.'

We enjoy our family working alongside us on 'Marvellous Maths Mondays' and 'Family Fridays.'

We began our school year with amazing ballet lessons with staff from 'The Royal Ballet School.'
