Year 5 & 6 Chess Club

Our Chess Club is the perfect opening gambit for any Year 5 or Year 6 pupil who wants to sharpen their mind and enjoy a friendly game. Whether you’re a rook-ie just learning the basics or a king or queen of strategy already, there’s a seat at the board for you.

Each week, children practise new skills, plan clever moves ahead and take on their friends in games that put their learning into action. Along the way, they’ll build concentration, resilience and problem-solving skills — all while having great fun with friends.

At Chess Club, we celebrate every effort, not just checkmates. After all, every game is a fresh chance to pawn-der new ideas and learn something new.
